Maintenance Supervisor

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Overview

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, supervises the daily operations of the assigned A.O.R. Maintenance Supervisor provides technical and operation guidance and supervision to a multi-national Maintenance workforce and their daily tasks and ensures that their effort is properly accounted for in accordance with Military Regulations and Company SOP's and WI. Responsible for the accountability and status of all Equipment assigned to the section. Supervises overall bench stock management, driver's training/education, safety, and environmental awareness.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

1. Supervises personnel engaged in Field Level Maintenance.
2. Conducts planning and scheduling of maintenance and Services for all equipment assigned equipment.
3. Hand receipt holder for tools, equipment and spare parts assigned to the section as well supervises performance of sensitive/controlled items inventories.
4. Utilizes Global Combat Support-Army (GCSS-Army) to manage daily maintenance related functions.
5. Monitors work orders/production on all assigned equipment requiring corrective action.
6. Responsible for the tracking of equipment services, preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS), administrative services and unscheduled maintenance activities as well as prepares personnel work schedules and monitors performance of subordinates.
7. Ensures daily reporting is annotated with current and updated information.
8. Supervises physical/personnel security, supply and maintenance management operations as it pertains to assigned equipment.
9. Supervises and tracks recoverable items to ensure compliance with exchange pricing (EP)/recoverable items program.
10. Determine the causes of equipment readiness deficiencies, take corrective action within their areas of responsibility, and provide feedback on systemic readiness problems.
11. Adheres to LOGCAP Performance Work Statement and enforces standards within the work area.
12. Provides reports on safety, quality, supply and maintenance issues.
13. Prepares and presents/submits reports and briefings to management or for external agencies.
14. Performs environmental control duties.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
16. Communicates professionally, both orally and written.
17. Prepares, analyzes, and briefs reports on maintenance schedules, production, performance, and trends across assigned A.O.R.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior military training in Maintenance and Supply management or civilian equivalent preferred.
• The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Kuwait Heavy Driver's License are required.
• Certification in GCSS-Army or other STAMIS is required.
• Ability to obtain host nation driver license.
• Must be CAC eligible and/or ability to obtain a CAC.

Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of maintenance and supply management experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity of a similar project/department/branch.Skills:

• Possesses thorough knowledge of GCSS-Army.
• Must be familiar with Tactical Equipment or also Commercial Equipment.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and Class IX Supply operations.
• Must have effective communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Must be knowledgeable of/possesses the ability to identify the military rank structure.
• Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment.
• Possesses ability to perform root cause analysis and prepare Corrective Actions Plans.
• Must have full knowledge of management and usage of TMDE.
• Familiar with the Army Logistics Readiness and Sustainability Program.
• Must be proficient in troubleshooting and automotive systems.
• Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification etc.
• Possesses expert knowledge of the maintenance prints to be able to establish workload priority.
• Possesses expert knowledge of equipment operations and driver certification program.
• Must be able to function effectively with little to no guidance.
• Possesses excellent computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
• Supervisory Skills.
• Possesses good customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervises a section of up to 30 employees. Will have direct oversight of Billeting Leads, Coordinators and Billeting Specialists.

Working Environment:

• The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
• The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
• The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
• The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity:

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
