Fire Alarm Lead

***This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP***

Under supervision of the Fire Protection Systems Supervisor, performs routine and emergency maintenance of electronic intrusion alarm systems, components, and subsystems, including conductor splicing and terminating. Performs installation and repairs of circuit boards, circuit breakers, transformers, filters, batteries, rectifiers, and associated components. Works in secure, critical, and sensitive areas under the control of the U.S. Army, adhering to contract requirements. Ensures maintenance of fire alarm and suppression systems in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) according to NFPA 72, UFC 3-600-01, NFPA 25, NFPA 2001, UFC 3-601-02, and other relevant codes. Reviews inspections, testing, and repairs of fire alarm panels, indicating devices, and monitoring systems. Maintains fire suppression systems including wet and pre-action sprinklers, FM200, fire pumps, and related equipment, in compliance with applicable standards. Works in secure, sensitive areas under U.S. Army control.

• Provides direction for maintenance and repair of fire detection and suppression systems.
• Performs inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems as per UFC 3-601-02, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and other codes.
• Uses test equipment and meters for diagnosing system malfunctions.
• Programs fire alarm control panels using computer software and performs load calculations.
• Utilizes hand tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
• Troubleshoots and repairs fire protection circuits and components.
• Maintains accountability for parts, tools, and materials.
• May conduct routine and emergency services outside normal hours.
• Works in secure, sensitive areas following U.S. Army security procedures.
• Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• Prepares work documentation.
• Follows safety and environmental standards.
• Acts as Subject Matter Expert for fire alarm and suppression systems in the AOR.
• Provides recommendations for system upgrades and repairs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum Qualifications: Recognized journeyman or craftsman qualification in fire alarm systems per UFC 3-601-02, such as NICET Level III certifications, labor organization training, or equivalent. Associates degree with two years' experience or high school diploma with six years' experience. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain U.S. Government and host nation driver's licenses. Must be CAC eligible and a U.S. citizen.
• Experience: At least 5 years in fire detection and signaling systems, including 33 months specifically in fire alarm systems, covering installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, commissioning, and project management. Ability to evaluate deficiencies and provide documentation. Previous employment verification required.
• Skills: Ability to assess fire detection/suppression installations, understand technical instructions, and communicate effectively. Factory training in MIRCOM PRO 2000, VESDA, or Chemetron systems preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises a team of 11 technicians, including reporting and documentation.
• Working Conditions: Capable of working in extreme temperatures exceeding 120°F, in indoor/outdoor harsh environments, including industrial conditions.
• Physical Requirements: Medium work capacity, lifting up to 50 lbs, with requirements for heavy lifting, climbing, and working in potentially hazardous environments. PPE use is mandatory.
