Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, perform initial, in-progress and final inspections on various pieces of military, commercial, and other forms of Special Purpose equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to US Government property. Assists Shops as needed with Troubleshooting processes. Uses proper TMDE in the daily operations phase. Understands the others shop equipment and provides assistance and coverage whenever needed. Test and Troubleshoot all forms of HVAC Systems belonging to the customers.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  1. Perform initial, in-progress, classification and final inspections.
  2. Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot defects.
  3. Use technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections.
  4. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  5. Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals.
  6. Conduct tests on equipment that has been serviced, repaired and overhauled to ensure operating efficiency before returning to customer.
  7. Perform ECOD and ACOD inspections and verify condition codes.
  8. Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions to all of the workforce in the Shops.
  9. Ability to inspect, check and test all types of HVAC systems being work ordered to the Shop.
  10. Perform testing and certification of equipment and material during Load Testing Process.
  11. Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High School Graduate or equivalent.
    • Have HVAC Certification 608/609.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of six years continuous experience performing maintenance services and overhaul of Combat Tactical Engineering and power Generation and Ancillary Support equipment at the Mechanic or Inspector level.
  • Skills:
    • Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Engineer Equipment.
    • Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment.
    • Must be an expert in Corrective Actions performed by the Maintenance Teams and only ensure that his equipment is FMC when cleared by the shops.
    • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, service and repair HVAC systems work ordered by the customers.
    • Must have full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage.
    • Must be proficient in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesn't work correctly.
    • Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the services, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.
    • Must have expert knowledge of the maintenance prints so as to be able to establish workload priority.
    • Must have expert knowledge of Load Test procedures and processes.
    • Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations.
  • SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: None
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    • Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
  • PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    • Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
