Printer Repair Technician

The Printer Repair Technician applies knowledge of information systems hardware and software to diagnose and resolve problems in a service center environment. They communicate technical solutions clearly and professionally, recognizing, researching, isolating, and resolving first-level information systems issues for repairs, training, and follow-up. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing standalone and network printers, scanners, and multifunction devices, including routine repairs such as replacing ink cartridges.

Responsibilities

This position may change as needed to meet program or company requirements.

Fault finding and repairing various printers from vendors like Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Dell, Brother, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Panasonic, Minolta, Sony, Kyocera, Sharp, Okidata, Ricoh, Xerox, IBM, and Tektronix.

Installing and configuring digital senders, plotters, scanners, and copy machines, including network printers and ID card multifunction printers.

Troubleshooting and replacing electronic components such as SCRs, transistors, capacitors, resistors, bridge rectifiers, and fuses.

Performing assigned job duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include one year of related experience or equivalent education. Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. An electronics diploma or equivalent work experience is required; HP certification is desirable. Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain necessary licenses. Preferred qualifications include CompTIA A+ certification and three or more years of related experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues are essential. Experience in providing technical support and resolving escalations is required.

Skills include completion of DoD Information Assurance Awareness Training and Fort Gordon IASO Training. Knowledge of network and hardware troubleshooting, documentation, and relationship building across organizational levels is necessary.
