Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, oversees the day-to-day execution of the vehicle maintenance shop. Ensures policies and procedures are effectively enforced, manages the shop maintenance schedule for maximum personnel utilization, and reviews work for quality and standards compliance.

Responsibilities

This position description may change as needed to meet program or company requirements.

  1. Planning and scheduling maintenance for all assigned equipment.
  2. Managing hand receipt holder responsibilities for tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  3. Utilizing GCSS-Army for maintenance management.
  4. Monitoring work orders and production for corrective actions.
  5. Tracking equipment services, PMCS, administrative, and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  6. Ensuring daily reports are current and accurate.
  7. Managing physical and personnel security, supply, and maintenance operations related to assigned equipment.
  8. Tracking recoverable items to ensure compliance with exchange and recoverable items programs.
  9. Managing bench stock per regulations.
  10. Performing additional tasks such as Safety or Quality Representative roles.
  11. Conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on tactical and non-tactical equipment, following TM manuals and service order criteria.
  12. Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on vehicle systems.
  13. Performing vehicle test drives and using diagnostic tools.
  14. Handling shop power tools and following repair procedures.
  15. Performing routine maintenance like oil changes and inspections.
  16. Disassembling units for wear inspection.
  17. Assessing and repairing battlefield damage.
  18. Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; must provide proof.
  • US Army MOS 63B Wheel Mechanic or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain U.S. and Host Nation driver licenses.
  • 608/609 Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • About two years in tactical and non-tactical vehicle maintenance at the journeyman level, plus five years supervisory experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams and troubleshoot.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and handle confidential information discreetly.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • Heavy physical work, up to 100 lbs exertion.
  • Visual acuity for operating vehicles and equipment.
  • Exposure to extreme heat, outdoor conditions, hazards, fumes, and chemicals.
