THIS OPPORTUNITY

Versar holds a contract with The US Army Corps of Engineer Middle East District – TAM to provide CPSS at worldwide locations. In Lebanon, USACE requires Versar to provide one (1) Quality Assurance Construction Representative (QAR) at active construction sites where the general contractor is performing construction tasks. These sites are in Taraya and Beirut, Lebanon:

  • Perform Assurance Representative (QAR) services in Lebanon (Taraya and Beirut sites).
  • Perform inspections on in-progress construction efforts IAW applicable standards.
  • Review plans for military construction projects, facility modernization, rehabilitation programs, or self-help projects for compliance with the appropriate standards.
  • The QAR shall oversee construction activities, prepare daily reports, prepare construction photos and support implementation of USACE/Government policies, regulations, standards and procedures.
  • Perform reviews of design and or construction submittals prepared by others and provide written recommendations to the Government with respect to the appropriate approval or disapproval actions that should be taken by the Government.
  • Perform Biddability, Constructability, Operability, Environmental and Sustainability (BCOES) review of design drawings and specifications prepared by others using qualified personnel experienced inconstruction projects.
  • Review and comment upon proposed construction or service performance techniques, procedures, and methods prepared or proposed by others and provide recommendations to the Government with respect to approval or disapproval actions that should be taken.

The QAR will primarily located in Lebanon with inspection assignments in Taraya and Beirut.

Position Requirements:

  • Candidate must have considerable construction management knowledge, expertise and experience (minimum 5 years) and an understanding of the key components of construction management (schedule, cost, and quality).
  • Candidate must be able to communicate with the Versar PM and USACE in English, both spoken and written. All reports shall be written in English.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate with the local contractor in either the local language or English.
  • Candidate shall work an average of 40% (2 days) a week at Taraya, the ANTOC CMU Display Building location while work is in progress and an average of 60% (3 days) a week at the Beirut Naval Base (BNB) location until the completion of the ANTOC CMU Display Building.

Other Information:

  • The candidate must be familiar with Corps of Engineer manuals ER 1180-1-6 Construction Quality Management and be able to conduct Quality Assurance through the implementation of three phase control system.ie; preparatory phase, initial phase and follow up phase.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work under austere conditions in Lebanon and must pass a medical screening physical to obtain a "fitness for duty" letter.
  • The candidate must pass any background check required by the host country and be cleared by the US government.
  • Candidates should expect to work five days a week, 8 hours a day
  • Lodging and transportation allowance will be provided as well as meals for Taraya location only.
