A leading regional development finance institution focused on advancing economic and social progress is seeking a highly skilled Senior Alternative Investment Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and managing alternative investment opportunities—including private equity, venture capital, and debt instruments—aligned with the organization's mission to support sustainable development. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, investment expertise, and a keen understanding of risk management in alternative asset classes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of alternative investment opportunities
  • Evaluate investment strategies, general partner performance, and market positioning
  • Develop financial models, perform scenario analysis, and forecast investment returns
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing alternative investments
  • Assess governance, operational structures, and investment strategy of target funds
  • Identify and evaluate investment risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Analyze fund terms, structures, and legal documentation
  • Assist in constructing and managing portfolios of alternative investments
  • Provide recommendations to optimize risk-adjusted returns
  • Track and report portfolio performance, including asset allocation and liquidity
  • Stay informed on macroeconomic trends and regulatory changes
  • Research emerging investment opportunities and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in alternative investments, private markets, or investment consulting.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with legal structures and documentation in private equity or debt investments.
  • Experience working with or within development finance institutions is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
