BASIC INFORMATION ON THE ROLE

Position Name: Finance Manager

Direct Reports: Finance & Accounts Team

SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE

To oversee the management of finance and accounts departments of the group companies as well as direct the preparation of financial reports.

SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement a financial strategy
  • Managing the group's liquidity and cash needs effectively
  • Overseeing all accounting functions and preparing reports in compliance with legal requirements
  • Supervising legal structuring and due diligence for real estate acquisitions and negotiating financing
  • Overseeing accounting operations of foreign investment vehicles, control systems, and transaction processing
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with banks, investment analysts, and financial institutions
  • Developing strategies for optimal insurance coverage for the organization's assets and liabilities
  • Evaluating business activities such as acquisitions, investments, and divestitures for financial viability
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, cash flow, liquidity, projects, and financial statements
  • Finalizing consolidated financials in line with GAAP, managing audits, and coordinating with auditors
  • Conducting financial analysis and due diligence for projects and investments
  • Engaging with internal and external parties for investments
  • Ensuring tax and regulatory compliance for local and international entities
  • Communicating financial information to Owners/BOD regularly
  • Creating policies and procedures to enhance operational and fiscal controls
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Board or CEO

People Management:

  • Monitoring team progress and evaluating staff achievements
  • Supporting staff development and motivation
  • Participating in business development to ensure sound financial planning and risk management

Self-Management:

  • Maintaining integrity and high standards in job execution
  • Developing proficiency in relevant skills
  • Achieving set performance goals
  • Developing creative solutions for finance management

SECTION III: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Educational Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting/Finance with professional certifications such as CA/CPA/CFA/ACCA

Behavioral Competencies:

  • High integrity and reliability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Effective time management and adaptability
  • Attention to detail and curiosity

Language Skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years in Accounting and Finance with a reputable organization

Nature of Experience:

  • Experience in Kuwait or GCC real estate, treasury operations is advantageous

SECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONS

Internal:

  • Managing Partner: updates, reports, feedback, policy discussions, audits, operational efficiency
  • Function Heads: collaboration as needed

External:

  • Banks: account info, facilities
  • Auditors: annual audits
