Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Directs and controls all activities of mechanical field maintenance, planning for major overhauling, shutdown works, forecasting spares, special tools, and manpower. Prepares and submits daily, monthly, and annual plans, along with reports as per contract requirements.
  2. Liaises daily with client engineers to coordinate works across disciplines.
  3. Supervises, directs, and coordinates all activities of contractor personnel involved in mechanical maintenance, repair, modification, and installation of stationary mechanical equipment in assigned units.
  4. Ensures compliance with job and safety standards. Supervises mechanical contract work, including tank cleaning, repair, catalyst handling, hydroblast & chemical cleaning, leak sealing, and scaffolding contracts for stationary equipment.
  5. Plans and supervises activities of contractor personnel for units under his control. Performs supervisory functions at the unit level as established by management.
  6. Directs and controls all contractor activities for planned, breakdown, turnaround, and modification/construction works related to stationary mechanical equipment. Inspects job sites to ensure procedures, standards, and safety regulations are followed.
  7. Coordinates with operations, safety, maintenance, engineering, and inspection staff to optimize field mechanical maintenance within agreed frameworks.
  8. Analyzes recurring or abnormal equipment failures. Suggests modifications or further investigations to optimize equipment performance.
  9. Reviews engineering drawings for stationary mechanical equipment. Manages spare parts inventory, recommending stock levels for existing and new equipment.
  10. Participates in pre-tender meetings, assists in bid preparations, sketches, drawings, cost estimates, and contract negotiations.
  11. Maintains and updates technical records of stationary equipment, prepares technical reports, and contributes data for budgets and maintenance improvements.
  12. Supervises training programs for new employees and ensures safety and housekeeping standards are maintained. Attends call-outs after working hours.
  13. Familiar with standards and codes for maintenance of process plants in refineries and gas plants.
  14. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSEMS) standards to meet company and client requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 8 years of experience as a Maintenance Service Engineer, including responsibility for stationary equipment maintenance and shutdown works in refineries, petrochemicals, power stations, or construction projects.
  3. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  4. Proficient in computer applications, especially MS Office.
  5. Knowledge of refinery safety protocols and personal protective equipment use.
