Qualification
  • Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics or equivalent from a recognized institute.
  • Completed recognized apprenticeship.
  • Three (3) years post-apprenticeship experience in similar facilities with a minimum of two (2) years in a similar position.
  • Experience with Ex-Equate / Kuwait / GCC is mandatory.
  • Candidate must possess an Equate Card and have experience in Shutdown / Turnaround.
  • Working knowledge of PC software such as Excel, Access, etc.
  • Skills to check, calibrate, and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic instruments, communication systems (VHF radios, navigation systems, radar, marine lanterns), and controls and protective interlocks.
  • Ability to complete assigned jobs independently.
  • Exposure to PLC systems such as Siemens, HIMA, Allen Bradley, etc.
  • Good knowledge of protective systems, start-up logic, vibration, governing/engine management systems of diesel engines, propulsion systems, diesel generators, and related interlocks.
  • Familiarity with marine/oil industry safety standards.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Ability to supervise contractor personnel working under him.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and troubleshooting P&ID's, loop diagrams, etc.
  • Capable of group communication to direct a crew and coordinate with other sections.
  • Competent in oral communication for directing work and written communication for reports.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with company representatives and staff.
Job Description
  • Assist in collecting equipment details of all instrument types and perform maintenance on pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic instruments, control systems (PLCs & SCADA), fire and gas monitoring and protection systems, communication systems like VHF radios, radar equipment, vessel navigation systems, navigation lanterns, plant/instrument air supply/dryer packages, solar power systems, diesel engine control systems, etc., using site drawings and catalogs for data input into the Materials and Maintenance Management System.
  • Assist in developing equipment numbers as per eBeams standards.
  • Assist in collecting preventive maintenance data from manuals and formatting them to meet eBeams requirements.
  • Assist in identifying manpower and materials requirements for preventive maintenance programs.
  • Perform and/or direct preventive maintenance as per the preventive maintenance program.
  • Diagnose issues or potential problems with control systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical, and DCS related systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on instrumental control systems and protective switches.
  • Requisition supplies such as tools and test equipment for instrument maintenance.
  • Coordinate instrument repair and testing activities.
  • Report events and activities promptly to the supervisor, including manpower and spares used.
  • Conduct final inspections and tests on plant/equipment post-repair, including safety checks and instrumentation adjustments, adhering to safety policies.
  • Maintain logs and records of daily activities, calibration, and spares utilization.
  • Perform other duties such as obtaining excavation/work permits as per company regulations.
  • Attend call-out duties after hours as required.
  • Liaise with company representatives and maintenance contractors.
