  • Lead, coach, and manage the underwriting team to achieve underwriting excellence.
  • Oversee the assessment, pricing, and acceptance of insurance risks, ensuring decisions align with the company's risk appetite and profitability targets.
  • Develop, implement, and refine underwriting guidelines, procedures, and product offerings.
  • Analyze loss ratios, claims trends, and market dynamics to ensure the profitability of the book of business.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, claims, reinsurance, and sales teams to drive product development and market competitiveness.
  • Manage large and complex accounts or referrals beyond underwriters' authority levels.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and prepare underwriting reports for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Participate in client meetings and broker negotiations to support business development.
  • Train and mentor underwriters, providing guidance on technical and commercial underwriting issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Property, Engineering and Casualty underwriting and claims experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of P&C insurance products and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, ACII) are an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (Write,read, and communication).
