Field Support Representative (Journeyman)

Amentum is hiring a Field Support Representative (Journeyman) to support Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) and Product Manager Ground Sensors (PM GS) at various locations both CONUS and OCONUS. This role involves providing product support activities such as spares, warehousing, maintenance, transportation, shipping, fielding, equipment operator training, and systems sustainment for the Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection (FP) family of systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Install, repair, and service electronic equipment, including computers, radar, missile control, avionics, and communications in field installations.
  2. Coordinate with customers or supervisors to plan equipment layout.
  3. Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures.
  4. Oversee installation of equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  5. Operate systems to demonstrate equipment and analyze malfunctions.
  6. Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to repair equipment, utilizing electronics knowledge and standard tools.
  7. Instruct and direct workers in servicing and repairing equipment; instruct customers on operation.
  8. Consult with engineering personnel to resolve system operation and maintenance issues.
  9. Supervise testing, tuning, and adjustment of equipment for optimal performance.
  10. Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and potential improvements.
  11. Provide technical assistance for planning, designing, installing, modifying, and operating information systems.
  12. Prepare plans for application selection, systems development, and maintenance.
  13. Analyze applications systems and programming activities; conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates.
  14. Project hardware and software requirements.
  15. Assign and review personnel activities; evaluate performance and prepare reports.
  16. Advise on administrative policies, technical issues, priorities, and methods.
  17. Coordinate activities with other information systems sections.
  18. Prepare activity and progress reports for customer sites.
  19. Discuss performance and scheduling with customer personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of embedded technical support, maintenance, repairs, and advising to Army tactical units.
  • Active SECRET US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
