Electrical Supervisor - Utility & Sub Station

We are looking for a talented and skilled Electrical Supervisor - Utility & Substation in Steel Melting Plant to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling day to day shift activities, repairs, attending planned and unplanned shutdowns, and inspecting and maintaining utility and substation facilities in the steel melting plant. You will assist your superior in finalizing jobs for planned maintenance days and annual shutdowns, ensuring completion within the time schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Closely supervising, executing, and controlling maintenance activities (preventive and corrective maintenance) with assistance from Electrical & Electronics Specialists and Electrical Technicians as per PM work orders.
  2. Inspection of responsible/allocated area equipment, reporting any major abnormality to the higher level, and recording it in the logbook and checklists of SAP.
  3. Execution of corrective action to eliminate identified abnormalities with assistance from Electrical & Electronics Specialists and Electrical Technicians.
  4. Attending breakdowns, minimizing delays, and unplanned shutdowns.
  5. Implementing instructions from management.
  6. Coordinating with other departments and working as a team.
  7. Carrying out daily shift activities and following through on problems.
  8. Proper maintenance of equipment/facilities and carrying out repair works, keeping spares ready.
  9. Studying system/equipment drawings, selecting proper tools for special/critical jobs, safekeeping, and working effectively to reduce maintenance costs.
  10. Responsible for proper housekeeping and cleaning of equipment, tools, and work areas after any maintenance job.
  11. Following company rules & regulations, such as annual leave, medical leave, working hours, shift schedule, off days, safety instructions, and rules specified by the Authority/Ministry.
  12. Performing other tasks and duties assigned by your superior.

Job Qualification:

  1. At least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. At least 8-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a steel melting shop.
  3. Ability to read electrical drawings and knowledge of utility and substations. Good knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of utility and substation facilities in the steel melting plant.
