KPMG Kuwait is seeking an (ESG) Environment and Social, Governance Manager to join the ESG team. The ideal candidate should be based in Kuwait. We are expanding the ESG/ Sustainability practice which helps organizations improve their corporate sustainability management as well as support organizations in developing their strategies to specific sustainability challenges. Our goal is to help our clients understand and respond to sustainability trends that are driving changes in markets, regulations, and technologies.

Our work ranges from supporting the development of strategy, management, and reporting to helping clients resolve implementation challenges in areas such as climate change, ethical supply chain management, sustainable finance, decarbonization, human rights, economic development, net-zero commitments, corporate citizenship, and other emerging areas.

• Assist the ESG team to deliver advisory and assurance projects.
• Help raise KPMG Kuwait profile in the ESG field among businesses and government regulatory bodies.
• Educate client's senior management on the value of ESG.
• Identify CC&S business opportunities.
• Help develop business plan, pitches and engagements - support the team with developing new propositions, actively build a network in Kuwait, respond to RFPs/tenders.
• Partner with KPMG's ESG regional and global network where necessary.
• Help build a strong ESG team, including deliver training to staff in sustainability reporting and assurance.

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience within related disciplines with at least 5+ years of Sustainability advisory, assurance and/ or verification experience.
• Relevant experience working inside a company or as an external consultant on ESG/ sustainability projects.
• Experience in consulting, particularly with a Big 4 firm.
• Experience in writing compelling ESG reports.
• Lead and manage multiple ESG projects simultaneously.
• Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops on ESG topics.
• Experience in providing ESG services to diverse industry clients.
• Strong ability to analyze ES data and generate insights.
• Leading sales activities, proposal development and experience in undertaking public speaking engagements as well as Board presentations.

1. Experience in establishing sustainability development strategies and reporting/ advisory based on the following frameworks - UNGC, GRI, UN Principles for Responsible Banking, UN Principles for Responsible Investment, TCFD, SASB, etc.
2. Experience in DJSI, CDP and other rating agencies reporting/ advisory a plus.
3. Experience in Sustainable Finance.
4. Experience in Human Right Assessment and Gender Equality research and reporting.
5. Understanding and working knowledge of the following concepts and frameworks:

(Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Integrated Reporting (IR), International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Task Force on Climate Related Disclosures (TCFD), UN Sustainably Development Goals (SDGs, United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Environment and Social, Governance (ESG), Occupational Health and Safety Frameworks (OSHA, OSHAD), Social Return on Investment (SROI) or equivalent).

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental & sustainability studies or other relevant discipline.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English (spoken and written Arabic is an advantage).
• Strong communication and presentation capability.
• Ability to thrive in an international and multi-cultural environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
