Sustaining a Culture of High Expectations in Teaching, Learning and Assessment:

  1. Teaching up to 40 children with a variety of strengths and weaknesses in a self-contained classroom.
  2. Help the child develop and maintain an optimum level of health and well-being.
  3. Provide opportunities for the child to enhance his/her level of physical growth and development.
  4. Help the child develop effective body management, useful physical skills, and the transfer of these skills from one progression to the next.
  5. Help the child understand the concepts relating to effective and efficient movement; acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain an active lifestyle.
  6. Develop positive personal and social development by promoting fair play, working together and tolerance of individual differences.
  7. Provide opportunities for every child to develop a positive self-image.
  8. Prepare weekly lesson plans in a timely manner, submitting unit plans before each quarter and long-term plans in March to the Principal.
  9. Undertake supervision duties as directed by the Principal.
  10. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school as well as monthly school meetings and team meetings and in self-selected professional growth activities.
  11. Support other members of the teaching team during short leaves of absence.
  12. Administer tests as per the academic program.
  13. Communicate with parents and school on pupil progress regularly.

Building and Maintaining Collaborative Relationships:

  1. Participate in the provision of co-curricular activities including liaising with other schools and clubs to arrange fixtures.
  2. Set up school teams and allocate teachers to administer them.
  3. Proper usage of school-provided resources and equipment.

Community Engagement:

  1. Actively develop rapport with parents and promote school through regular positive direct (phone calls and meetings with parents) and indirect (website, social media, high quality of school events/activities) communications with the school community.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

  1. Participate in one mandatory after school extracurricular activity that develops the after school program and helps to develop school teams that participate competitively at various levels representing the school. It is mandatory to attend scheduled meetings for extracurricular activities.

Department Goals:

  1. Foster a positive relationship and attitude between all staff, management, school owners, and the community.
  2. Implement the daily lesson plans effectively.
  3. Meet the curriculum and developmental goals outlined for the year.

Individual Goals:

  1. Be ambassadors in promoting the school.
  2. Read, understand and comply with the policy and procedures of ICS.
  3. Implement the weekly plans, unit plans and long-range plans effectively in the classroom.
  4. Maintain a high standard of classroom discipline, student manners, and behavior both inside and outside the classroom.
  5. Comply with all work expectations as laid out in the staff handbook.
